3000 miles, very little sleep, but that wasn't going to stop us!

So we arrived at Cormayeur at about 9:30 this morning after a long journey which began in Bahrain. Both children and adults were exhausted by the time we arrived at the hotel but we were determined to get a good half day on the slopes. I'm going to be honest, it was a ray of sunshine watching the kids drag their suitcases the final few yards to the hotel, but they held it together and were soon kitted out and ready to get up the mountain.

Our rep, Hannah, did a fantastic job at getting the kids sorted into their groups and then off to everybody's favourite part of skiing....boot hire! There were moments when I thought we weren't going to get everyone fully suited and booted as the children struggled to find the strength to twist and push their way into their ski boots, but thanks to Hannah and the ski instructors they all managed it and then it was time to ski.

It continued to snow all throughout the day at a temperature of -1 degrees! It might have been cold but the children were in high spirits as they headed up the mountain, some with skis others with snowboards and we made the most of the 2 hours we managed to get on the slopes. There have already been a few spectacular falls and although we have yet to vote on our 'faller of the day', we have a special something for the 'faller of the day' to wear on his/her next day on the slopes so stand by for pictures of this tomorrow.

We're about to have dinner at the hotel followed by a quiz and an early night. All is well here in Cormayeur, please keep an eye on the blog every evening for updates.
