Well what a week of thrills and spills! It is with a huge sigh of satisfaction and relief that we can confirm that all our pupils are coming back happy and proud of themselves, having safely completed 6 days on the slopes.
The ski instructors have been full off nothing but praise for our pupils, constantly telling us how polite and outgoing they are. Our pupils are a credit to the school and to themselves. Mel, one of the instructors, even used the word tenacious! We have been extremely lucky with the weather today, and there was not a snow drop in sight. The Sun was threatening to come through all day, and visibility was excellent. A perfect day for a perfect free-ski! We even had some groups go on black runs, although Martina saw her instructor going backwards so she went backwards too - but did not stay attached to her skis for very long!
We are pleased to report that, apart from a few bumps and lumps, everyone is in good health. Yesterday saw a precautionary trip to the hospital with Sarah O, but we left there with a packet of paracetamol and greatly reassured by the expert Italian care we received.
The Apres Ski activity this afternoon was letting the pupils venture into the local village (two streets!) for a bit of retail therapy. Surprisingly they were disappointed at the lack of gift shops available to them! Only Mrs. Annoni managed to come back with three bags of shopping.
Tomorrow sees a frantic final packing session, followed by a visit to Fenis Castle. After a spot of lunch we are off to the airport and then our final stop, Bahrain!
It is likely that we may not find the opportunity to post tomorrow, but I intend to be in touch via the SMS system. We hope you have enjoyed reading this blog as much as we have writing it.
Arrivederci!
